Hey there, sports fans of Laurens! Excitement is in the air as the voting for the highly-anticipated GoLaurens.com Athlete of the Week kicks off this Monday, January 28, 2025! This is your chance to show some love for our local heroes on the court and field. You’re not going to want to miss out on this action!

Get Ready to Cast Your Vote!

Voting time is short and sweet, as it will be open until 5 PM on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. Don’t forget, you can only cast one vote per day, so make it count! All you need to do is head on over to GoLaurens.com and share your support for the athletes who have been shining bright this past week.

Meet the Nominees

This week, we have three incredible players vying for the title, and they are nothing short of impressive:

  • Braylee Burke:
  • What a week for this talented 7th grader! Braylee has been a force to be reckoned with on the basketball court, averaging 13.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 3 steals per game during her two contests last week. She’s making her mark and showing everyone that age is just a number!

  • Kylen Calhoun:
  • The Red Devils couldn’t have asked for a better performance from Kylen! He led the charge with 12 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals in a thrilling win against Mid-Carolina, shooting an impressive 4 for 5 from behind the arc. Talk about lighting up the scoreboard!

  • Quinton Watts:
  • Last but certainly not least, we have Quinton, who has been on fire! He averaged 16.5 points per game in the Raiders’ recent outings against Chesnee and Fountain Inn. His skills are undeniable and he’s proving to be a standout player for sure.

How It Works

The GoLaurens.com Athlete of the Week program is set to run for a grand total of 32 weeks during the exciting 2024-2025 school year. It’s simple: every week, athletes from Clinton High School, Laurens Academy, Laurens District High School, and Thornwell Charter School will get a chance to shine under the spotlight and compete for votes from you, the fans!

Make your voice heard and be a part of cheering on these local athletes making headlines in the community. Remember, each vote counts, and it’s a fun way to get involved in supporting the youth in Laurens who are pouring their hearts into their sports.
