High School Fall Sports Scores and Highlights from Vermont

This week, the high school fall sports season kicked off across Vermont with exciting games in soccer, volleyball, and more. Here are some of the key highlights and results from the latest matchups.

Soccer

In notable soccer action, North Country came out strong, defeating Peoples 3-1. Josi Fortin scored one goal for North Country, while Dakotah Bowen led the team with two goals. On the other side, Ellis Speers managed to find the net once for Peoples.

Essex also secured a win against St. Johnsbury, finishing with a score of 2-0, thanks to goals from Ethan Leo and Emmet Voyer. Colchester triumphed over Burlington with a clear 2-0 victory as well.

In a high-scoring game, North Country dominated Lyndon with an impressive 8-1 score. Alex Giroux was a standout player, netting four goals during the match.

Field Hockey

In field hockey, South Burlington earned a comfortable 4-0 win over Mt. Abraham. Rosa DiGiulian shined by scoring two goals. Champlain Valley edged out Mount Mansfield in a close matchup, finishing 1-0.

Volleyball

In volleyball, Essex showcased their strong performance against Rice, winning 3-0 in straight sets (25-12, 25-8, 25-6). Riley Austin contributed significantly with six kills and five digs, leading her team to victory.

Burlington also secured a win against Mt. Mansfield, finishing 3-0, while Middlebury fought hard to beat Colchester 3-1.

Upcoming Matches

Several matches are lined up for the upcoming week. Notable games include Windsor visiting Brattleboro at 4:15 p.m. and Rice taking on BFA-St. Albans at 4:30 p.m. As the season progresses, fans can expect more thrilling competitions across all sports.
