Vermont High School Fall Sports Kick Off with Exciting Action

This week marks the beginning of the 2024 Vermont high school fall sports season, bringing a wave of excitement across various sports including soccer, field hockey, volleyball, golf, and cross-country running. Teams are ready to showcase their skills, and fans are eager to cheer for their favorites.

In recent soccer action, Vermont defeated UMBC with a convincing 3-1 score. Standout performances came from Kate Bossert, who netted two goals, and Bailey Ayer, who scored one goal and provided an assist. This victory improved Vermont’s overall record to 7-3-3 and a conference record of 2-2.

Meanwhile, Burlington staged an impressive comeback against Colchester, overcoming a 3-2 deficit at halftime to win 7-3. Glenna Westbrook was a key player, scoring four goals in the match. The team fired up in the second half, showcasing great teamwork and skill.

In the field hockey arena, Harwood edged out Montpelier, winning the game 1-0 thanks to Maisy Gendimencio‘s goal. The game was tightly contested, but Harwood secured the necessary points with solid defense.

On the volleyball courts, South Burlington continued their strong performance by defeating Burlington 3-0 in a convincing match. The team demonstrated strong coordination and powerful spikes, winning all three sets by scores of 25-18, 25-11, and 25-17.
