Vermont High School Fall Sports Update

As the fall sports season kicks off across Vermont, teams are showing their skills in various competitions. Here’s a roundup of the latest scores and highlights from soccer, field hockey, and more.

Men’s Soccer Highlights

In a thrilling match, Vermont faced Merrimack but fell short with a score of 3-2. Sage Babey, Rachel Bjorgan, and Chloe Goofers each contributed a goal for Merrimack. Vermont’s Natalie Zarcone and Lara Beecher scored, but it wasn’t enough to secure a win.

In another competitive game, Vermont tied with St. Thomas 5-5. The game was decided in a shootout, where Vermont secured a 1-0 victory. Conversely, Vermont lost a close match to New Hampshire, 3-2, with Lotte Kanters and Sophia Drees both scoring for Vermont.

Field Hockey Roundup

In field hockey action, Harwood edged out Rice with a 2-1 victory. Roanha Chalmers and Briley Rutledge each netted a goal for Harwood, while Sara Guidice found the net for Rice.

Windsor dominated White River Valley, winning 6-0, with Audrey Rupp scoring four goals. In U-32’s matchup, they secured a 3-0 victory against Green Mountain Valley, with Meredith Wilcox contributing two goals.

Volleyball and Other Matches

In a close game, Middlebury and Fair Haven ended in a 2-2 tie. Jazmyn Hurley and Solstice Binder stood out for Middlebury, ensuring they claimed the draw after trailing in the first half.

Additionally, Richford defeated Paine Mountain 4-2, while Bellows Falls triumphed over Randolph 3-1. Leland & Gray also secured a 3-1 victory against Rivendell, and Green Mountain registered a narrow 1-0 win against Springfield.
