Vermont High School Football Season Kicks Off with Thrilling Games and Impressive Performances

Burlington kicked off the 2024 Vermont high school fall sports season with an exciting array of games across various sports including soccer, volleyball, and field hockey. Below are the highlighted scores and standout players from the week’s matches.

In soccer, strong performances were showcased in multiple games. Champlain Valley dominated Middlebury with a score of 10-1. Emery Thompson led the charge with 2 goals and 2 assists, while Penny Webster and Carly Strobeck contributed 2 goals each. In volleyball, Montpelier enjoyed success as well, defeating Missisquoi with a resounding 3-0 victory, led by Abby Hess with an impressive 12 aces. Harwood prevailed against Middlebury with a score of 3-1, bolstered by Savannah Fulton who recorded 11 kills.
