High School Sports Recap: Vermont Fall Season Kicks Off

This week in Vermont, the excitement of the high school fall sports season continued to unfold with a flurry of action across various sports including soccer, field hockey, volleyball, golf, and cross-country running. Coaches and team representatives were busy reporting the results and standings, keeping everyone updated on the local athletic scene.

Soccer Highlights

One standout match took place when Burlington faced off against Champlain Valley. Burlington clinched a 4-2 victory with Fields DeShaw scoring two goals, while Quinn Sessions and Quinn Moore each added one. The team quickly built a 3-0 lead and managed to keep the pressure on their opponents. On the other side, Champlain Valley’s Ethan Revoir and Ajak Dau contributed one goal each.

Another great game was between Mount Mansfield and South Burlington, where Mount Mansfield took the win 3-1. Avery Gilbert was a key player, scoring two goals, while Connor Watson found the net for South Burlington.

Field Hockey Action

In field hockey, St. Johnsbury battled against Spaulding, securing a tight 3-0 victory. Ayla Brown, Sylvia Laplant, and Ella Blanchard were the star scorers for St. Johnsbury, displaying strong teamwork and skill throughout the match.
