Local teams are hitting the fields, courts, and trails, an indication that the 2024 fall season has officially begun. Fans, friends, and families are excitedly awaiting the results while showing their support for the athletes.

This past week, several exciting matches took place. Game schedules reported various match-ups across different sports, including soccer, field hockey, volleyball, golf, and cross-country running. Coaches and team representatives are encouraged to be proactive in sharing scores and game highlights with the community.

In soccer, notable matches included Missisquoi at U-32 and Lyndon at Stowe, both kicking off at 4 p.m. Others, like Montpelier at St. Johnsbury and Bellows Falls at Hartford, kept the excitement going in the afternoon. A few games were scheduled later, such as Spaulding at Milton at 4:30 p.m. and Essex at South Burlington set for 7 p.m.

Supporters of volleyball weren’t left out either, with matches lining up throughout the week, including South Burlington at Rutland and Woodstock at Burr and Burton. Each match offered the chance for students to show off their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Cross-country runners are also getting a chance to shine, with various events happening this season. Onlookers are eager to see how local teams perform against one another. Important races will take place soon, contributing to healthy competition among schools.

As the season progresses, it’s clear that excitement fills the air in every corner of Vermont. With numerous matches scheduled, fans and players alike can anticipate thrilling moments that capture the spirit of high school sports.
