Vermont High School Fall Sports Season Kicks Off
As the beautiful fall season unfolds in Vermont, high schools across the state have jumped back into action with exciting games in soccer, field hockey, and more. As of now, teams are eager to show what they can do on the field.
In soccer, Mount Mansfield dominated Burlington with a remarkable score of 6-1. Abby Hussey and Aly Dorman each scored two goals for Mount Mansfield, marking a strong start to their season. Burlington’s lone goal came from Lily McArthur.
In another highlight, Rice took on South Burlington in a thrilling match ending in a 6-2 win for Rice. Violet Clough stood out with two goals and two assists, helping her team secure a solid victory.
On the field hockey side of things, Fair Haven showcased their skills by defeating Stratton 5-1. Maddy Perry led the charge with three goals, contributing significantly to her team’s success.
Champlain Valley faced Essex in volleyball, winning in a competitive match with set scores of 25-17, 16-25, 31-29, and 25-21. Emery Thompson had a fantastic game, scoring both a goal and an assist.
