LAURENS, S.C., July 2, 2024 – In a grand announcement, United Community revealed its plan to reopen its West Main Street branch mid-July after undergoing extensive renovations. In its commitment to the community, the bank is offering a contemporary environment with expanded services to better cater to the needs of an increasing customer base. The branch is set to reopen on July 15th.
Regional banking manager, Candi Wilson, stated, “We are dedicated to providing our Laurens customers with the best possible banking experience. These renovations reflect our commitment to the community and ensure we can continue to deliver exceptional service for many years to come.”
The revamped West Main Street branch now offers a welcoming and technologically advanced space designed to meet the evolving banking needs of the customers, while ensuring improved traffic flow. A significant feature of the newly renovated branch is an Interactive Teller Machine (ITM) that would be available during extended hours. This cutting-edge technology facilitates video conferencing with a live teller for various transactions such as deposits, check cashing, loan payments, and more.
In an additional effort to enhance its service in Laurens, United Community has decided to consolidate its Church Street branch with the newly renovated West Main Street branch in September. This strategic decision will gather United’s bankers under one roof at the renovated branch, promoting greater collaboration and providing an uninterrupted banking experience for customers.
“We are excited to join our teams together and bring our bankers under one roof to serve our customers. Our employees, our customers, and our neighbors call Laurens home. United is proud to be part of the landscape of our wonderful town, and we’re pleased to continue offering the same service our customers have come to know and love,” added Wilson.
United Community has made a commitment to donating and giving back to the community apart from making investments in the updated, state-of-the-art branch. Since 2021, the United Community Bank Foundation has donated more than $10,000 to various Laurens area organizations and non-profits. Furthermore, the bank has partnered with Laurens County schools to implement financial literacy education programs. United’s employees also participate in regular days of service with local nonprofit organizations. In the last year alone, over half a million dollars in grants were awarded by the United Community Bank Foundation, thus supporting roughly 230 organizations across six states.
