Texas High School Football Championship Weekend: Excitement Awaits at AT&T Stadium

Arlington, Texas was buzzing with excitement as the high school football championships took place at AT&T Stadium. The day’s matchups showcased some of the best teams across various divisions, drawing many fans to the stands.

The action kicked off at 11 a.m. with the Class 1A Division II showdown between Jayton, who came into the game with a perfect record of 14-0, and Oakwood, which had a record of 9-5. This matchup promised to be a thrilling start to the day.

Next, at 2 p.m., the focus shifted to the Class 1A Division I game featuring two unbeaten teams: Whiteface, also 14-0, versus Gordon with an identical record. Fans were eager to see which team would remain undefeated.

As the day progressed, the Class 2A Division II game between Muenster (13-2) and Shiner (12-3) took to the field at 7 p.m. Meanwhile, the Class 2A Division I championship featured Stamford, boasting an impressive 15-0 record, facing off against Ganado, who came in at 14-1.

The afternoon also had exciting matchups in the Class 3A Division II category, where Gunter (13-2) played against Woodville (13-2) at 3 p.m. In Class 3A Division I, Columbus (14-1) had the tough challenge of taking on the undefeated Malakoff (15-0) in the evening.

Moving on to the Class 4A Division II, Carthage (14-1) squared off against Waco La Vega (12-3) at 11 a.m. Later in the day, at 3 p.m., Celina (15-0) took on Kilgore (13-1) in the Class 4A Division I final.

The action continued with the Class 5A Division II game where Randle (15-0) met South Oak Cliff (13-2) at 7 p.m. While in Class 5A Division I, it was Smithson Valley (13-2) clashing with Highland Park (14-1) at 11 a.m..

As the day drew to a close, the Class 6A Division II match featured Vandegrift (14-1) against Southlake Carroll (15-0) at 3 p.m. Finally, the nightcap was the Class 6A Division I game between Austin Westlake (14-1) and North Crowley (15-0), which started at 7 p.m..

The excitement of the championships spread throughout Arlington, with fans cheering for their teams and witnessing high school football at its finest. With title dreams on the line, these young athletes gave their all on the biggest stage.
