The South Bend area is buzzing with excitement as local high school athletes have made their college commitments official. On Wednesday, many talented athletes from various schools signed their letters of intent to continue their sports careers at the collegiate level. This marks the beginning of the early signing period for non-football athletes, which is expected to continue throughout the year.

The early signing window opened on November 13, and it will remain open for most athletes until August 1, 2025. However, basketball players at the Division I level have a more specific deadline as they can sign until November 20. The second signing period is set for April 16 to May 25, 2025. Meanwhile, football players will have their chance to sign starting in December.

Many schools in the South Bend area celebrated the achievements of their athletes. A list of signings includes:

  • Silas Laidig – Indiana Wesleyan, baseball
  • Will Delio – DePauw, boys swimming
  • Noah Norwood – Mid Michigan College, baseball
  • Reid Sollars – Grace College, boys cross country and track
  • Anna Stone – Taylor University, girls tennis
  • Ella Watford – Tennessee Tech, beach and indoor volleyball
  • Daisy Moody – Purdue-Fort Wayne, girls soccer
  • Kira Reynolds – Purdue, girls basketball
  • Monique Mitchell – Akron, girls basketball
  • Ryiah Wilson – Winthrop, girls basketball
  • Gwen Eiler – IU-Indianapolis, girls soccer
  • Brooks Clark – Hope College, boys lacrosse

These commitments highlight the dedication and talent of high school athletes in the area, paving the way for their next chapter in college athletics. The community proudly supports these young individuals as they embark on their new journeys.
