High School Football Rankings Update from Nebraska

This week in Omaha, the excitement continues as the Nebraska High School Football Coaches Poll reveals the latest rankings following week eight of the 2024 season. With the playoff picture starting to take shape, teams are battling hard to secure a spot.

In Class A, the top team remains Omaha Westside, boasting an impressive 8-0 record. Following closely are Millard South at 7-1 and Kearney also at 7-1. Notably, Omaha Central has climbed up to sixth place with a record of 5-3, while Millard North has slipped to eighth with a record of 4-4. The full Class A rankings are as follows:

  • 1. Omaha Westside (8-0)
  • 2. Millard South (7-1)
  • 3. Kearney (7-1)
  • 4. Elkhorn South (7-1)
  • 5. Omaha North (6-2)
  • 6. Omaha Central (5-3)
  • 7. Bellevue West (5-3)
  • 8. Millard North (4-4)
  • 9. Millard West (4-4)
  • 10. Papillion-La Vista (6-2)

Meanwhile, in Class B, Skutt Catholic holds the top spot at 7-1, with Bennington right behind them also at 7-1. Not far behind is Seward who is currently undefeated at 8-0. Here’s how the Class B rankings shape up:

  • 1. Skutt Catholic (7-1)
  • 2. Bennington (7-1)
  • 3. Elkhorn North (7-1)
  • 4. Seward (8-0)
  • 5. Scottsbluff (7-1)

In Class C, Norfolk Catholic leads the way, also undefeated at 8-0, with Bishop Neumann and Hartington Cedar Catholic both at 7-1, making for a competitive field. The top five teams are:

  • 1. Norfolk Catholic (8-0)
  • 2. Bishop Neumann (7-1)
  • 3. Hartington Cedar Catholic (7-1)
  • 4. Battle Creek (6-2)
  • 5. Oakland-Craig (5-3)
