They recently scored 98.800 against Francis Marion University, excelling particularly in the Pyramid event. Upcoming matches are highly anticipated, with their final home tri-meet scheduled for March 28. Fans and supporters are eager to witness the team’s growth and determination as they prepare for the next showdown against Francis Marion on March 23.
The Newberry College Acrobatics & Tumbling team has been showing remarkable resilience in their recent matches, offering exciting performances that have fans cheering. Just recently, the team faced off against Francis Marion University, where they achieved a final score of 98.800. This strong showing is a testament to their hard work and tenacity in the sport.
During the dual meet against Francis Marion, the Wolves were particularly impressive in the Pyramid event, racking up 22.50 points out of a possible 30. This event really highlighted their precision and teamwork, which are key components of successful acrobatics and tumbling. They also showcased their skills beautifully in the Inversion (8.40) and Open (8.60) heats, earning well-deserved applause.
But that’s not all! Newberry also had a good showing in the Toss event, scoring an admirable 8.10 in the Open Heat. This added some crucial points to their overall score. The Synchronized Toss Heat also contributed to their total, proving that teamwork really does make the dream work. In tumbling, they continued to shine with scores of 7.350 in the Open Pass and 5.375 in the Aerial Pass, rounding out a solid performance overall.

Reflecting back to their debut meet, the Wolves faced stiff competition against King University (Tenn.) and finished with a score of 74.775 compared to King’s impressive 218.740. While the scores may tell a difficult story, it was clear that the Wolves put their heart into their performance, with their best score of 19.75 points in the Pyramid portion.
In that initial competition, Newberry tallied 23.125 out of 60 in Tumbling, 11.05 out of 30 in Acro, and 10.60 in Toss, showcasing their potential despite the tough odds. Notable performers like StellaGrace Allen and Hannah Ghaly stood out, taking part in various events and demonstrating that the future looks bright for this team.
The program’s debut coincided nicely with the celebration of the 2025 National Girls & Women in Sports Day, making it not just a competition, but a momentous occasion for fostering women in sports.
In this thrilling match, Newberry earned scores of 8.85 in the Pyramid Open Heat and 8.00 in the Toss Open Heat, which had everyone on the edge of their seats. They started strong, collecting 59.85 points in the first half of the meet, demonstrating that they can really bring it under pressure, including a score of 7.10 in the Pyramid Heat of the Compulsory event.
