NEWBERRY — Last week, the community of Newberry came together to celebrate the grand opening of a new rehabilitation facility that promises to enhance healthcare services in the area. This new location at 2704 Kinard Street is the result of a fantastic collaboration between Newberry County Memorial Hospital and Palmetto Bone and Joint, and it symbolizes more than just a new building; it represents hope, healing, and an ongoing commitment to quality healthcare.

Frick noted the impressive growth in rehabilitation services that the hospital has been providing and expressed how this new facility is essential for continuing that trajectory. “Our adult rehabilitation is one of the services that has seen definite growth,” she said, adding, “Newberry Hospital provides both inpatient and outpatient care, and this new space is a fantastic addition for our physical, occupational, and speech therapy services.”

With an eye on the future, Frick acknowledged that Newberry Hospital would soon reach a remarkable milestone, celebrating 100 years of service in 2025. She shared her commitment to diversifying and innovating healthcare services while ensuring that personal care remains at the heart of everything they do.
Dr. Phil Milner from Palmetto Bone and Joint underscored the importance of the facility, indicating that the road to this new opening involved about six years of planning and adjustments. Milner shared how, as needs continued to grow, finding a new space became essential. “We worked together with the former NCMH CEO to explore all possibilities, and eventually, we identified this location as a hidden gem,” he explained, clearly thrilled with how the transformation turned out.

The facility features a wide range of treatment rooms designed for various therapeutic services. After the ribbon cutting, attendees were invited to explore the new space. Guests walked through the well-planned layout, appreciating how this building evolved into a beautiful office with excellent architecture and superior design. “It’s impressive to see what it has become today,” Milner said.

Milner wrapped up his thoughts with a thoughtful expression, “I suspect in 15 years, we may find ourselves saying the same thing again: ‘I can’t believe we outgrew this office too.’”
