Mountlake Terrace Girls’ Basketball Shines Against Marysville Getchell

In Mountlake Terrace on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, the Mountlake Terrace girls’ basketball team dominated in their game against Marysville Getchell, winning with an impressive score of 58-22.

The game began with Mountlake Terrace quickly establishing control, outscoring Marysville Getchell 17-5 in the first quarter. The team kept up the momentum, scoring 13 points in the second quarter while holding Marysville to just 2. After halftime, Mountlake Terrace added another 15 points in the third quarter, while Marysville managed only 12. The final quarter saw both teams scoring, but Mountlake Terrace maintained their strong lead with another 13 points compared to just 3 from Marysville.

Leading the scoring for Mountlake Terrace was Jaliyah Dyson, who posted an impressive 19 points. She was supported by Samiah Coffee with 11 points and Iman Kaifa adding 10. Other contributors included Emma Schmidt with 8, Jordyn Stokes with 5, Jordan Wagner with 4, and Clara Loveless rounding out the scoresheet with 1.

On the other side, Marysville Getchell struggled to find their rhythm, with Emma Kirkwood12 points. Elle Glover contributed 4, while Jaidyn Swanson, Hannah Worth, and Addison Cavanagh combined for the remaining 6 points.

With this victory, Mountlake Terrace improved their record to 4-1, while Marysville Getchell fell to 0-6. Mountlake Terrace will be looking to continue their winning streak in their next match against Cedar Park Christian (Bothell) on Wednesday, December 18, at 7:15 p.m. at Mountlake Terrace High School.

Meanwhile, in other action on the same night, the Meadowdale girls’ basketball team achieved a commanding win over Everett, finishing with a score of 67-14. Leading scorers for Meadowdale included Mia Brockmeyer with 17 points, Audrey Lucas with 12, and several others contributing to their success. Meadowdale’s record now stands at 2-1.

Meadowdale’s next game will be against Shorewood on Wednesday, December 18, also at 7:15 p.m.. Both teams are eager to build on their recent performances as they continue the season.
