New Miss SC USA Gracen Grainger to Marshal Upcoming Whitten Center Parade
The South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (DDSN) has declared that the newly crowned beauty queen, Miss South Carolina USA, Ava Gracen Grainger, will grace the upcoming Whitten Center Parade. The parade, scheduled for the afternoon of 3rd July 2024, is the center’s annual Independence Day event, and Miss SC USA’s presence as the Grand Marshal is slated to add to the glamour and jubilation.
About Ava Gracen Grainger
Born and brought up in Hamer, South Carolina, Ava Gracen Grainger, popularly known as Gracen, grew up on an idyllic family farm. Excelling as a student, Gracen has successfully juggled her academic aspirations with her passion for modeling and acting. Her recent victory at the Miss South Carolina pageant will enable her to perform in her first official duty as Miss SC, leading the float at the Whitten Center parade this Wednesday afternoon.
The Whitten Center Parade
Every year, the DDSN Whitten Regional Center, located at 28373 Highway 76 East, Clinton, gears up to host the Independence Day Parade. This event becomes the center of attraction for both the residents and locals. Precisely crafted floats, live performances, and fireworks illuminate the whole region. This year, Miss South Carolina USA will be leading the entire procession as the Grand Marshal.
Participants and Highlights
The parade is expected to showcase floats from esteemed local entities, with Clinton’s Mayor Randy Randall, Clinton Police and Fire Departments, SC National Guard Armory, Woodlawn Ramblers Motorcycle Club, Clinton Masonic Lodge and Shriners Club, Laurens County Cruisers Classic Cars, and Whitten Center Parents’ Club all lined up to participate.
“The Whitten Center Independence Day Parade carries great meaning for the residents at the center,” said Craig Byrd, the DDSN Facility Administrator. “The amount of work and commitment the consumers, staff, and the people of Clinton put into the event truly creates a feeling of community, and it translates into pure joy for everyone when the parade winds around campus.” He expressed his excitement for this year’s event and underlined the significance of community spirit in making the parade successful.
Time and Venue
The parade will be held at the DDSN Whitten Regional Center campus, with its route winding around the campus, providing everyone with an excellent view. The parade is scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m. on July 3rd, 2024. It is expected to be a day of joy, community bonding and celebration with the presence of Ava Gracen Grainger adding to the glory of the event.
