In the latest action from Minneapolis-St. Paul, several high school teams competed in various sports, showcasing their skills and determination. Here’s a look at the results from the last few days.
In the Adapted Soccer CI Division, the team of Stillwater/Mahtomedi dominated against St. Paul Johnson with a commanding victory of 14-3.
At Gale Woods Farm, Team state meet qualifiers were determined, with Minnetonka leading the pack with a score of 28. Notable performances included Sean Fries finishing with a time of 15:43.3, followed closely by his teammates. Other teams included Eden Prairie with a score of 70, and individual qualifiers like Owen Stuewe from Shakopee at 15:57.4.
In the girls’ event, Prior Lake emerged victorious with 33 points. Layla Vennink led her team with a time of 18:47.9. Meanwhile, Minnetonka secured a place for the state meet as well, scoring 61.
Football games also drew attention this week. In Class 5A, New Prague narrowly defeated Rochester Century with a score of 14-7. In Section 2, Chaska faced Waconia in a thrilling OT match, winning 13-12. The action continued with Apple Valley dominating Bloomington Kennedy, scoring 35-0.
As for volleyball, the quarterfinals were intense with Eagan defeating Two Rivers decisively at 25-11, 25-5, 25-11. Other matches included East Ridge beating Woodbury 25-9, 25-17, 25-6 and Champlin Park dominating Park Center with a score of 25-3, 25-9, 25-5.
With the state tournaments coming up and more matches scheduled in various sports, high school students are looking to make their mark this season. Fans and families are encouraged to attend and support their teams.
