This dynamic leadership change comes as Dabs steps into Amanda Benfield’s shoes. But no pressure, right? After all, Dabs was chosen from a whopping pool of 43 applicants! Talk about a serious selection process. What made her stand out? Well, it turns out her extensive experience in leadership roles, deep community connections, and a clear vision for the future won the hearts of the selection committee. Community engagement is in her wheelhouse, and we can expect great things from someone who has made it her mission to understand and uplift the people she serves.
Dabs is no stranger to the world of commerce and community service. She recently held the position of the Upper Savannah Regional Career Specialist with the South Carolina Department of Education, where she worked diligently to forge connections between businesses, schools, and students. This role was all about career readiness, and let’s be honest, nurturing the pipeline of future talent is vital for our local economy! She also wore the hats of a Career Development Facilitator and Work-Based Learning Coordinator at Laurens District 55 High School, where her focus lay heavily on student career exploration and building partnerships with businesses.

All these experiences have equipped her with a skill set that is sure to benefit our Chamber of Commerce immensely. And let’s not forget her impressive educational credentials: a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Studies from Clemson University and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Phoenix. This woman is ready to lead with knowledge and expertise!
