Laurens County, S.C. — A tragic single-car accident in Laurens County claimed the life of a driver on Wednesday.
According to officials from the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 3:25 p.m. on Lake Forest Drive near U.S. 221, which is approximately four miles west of Cross Hill. The accident involved a vintage 1983 Ford Bronco, which was traveling eastbound on U.S. 221 when it veered off the road, struck an embankment, and overturned. Sadly, the driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, did not survive the crash.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is actively investigating the incident to determine the cause of the crash. As of yet, the Laurens County Coroner’s Office has not released the identity of the deceased driver.
This incident has sent ripples through the local community, and residents are deeply saddened to hear about the tragic loss. The area around Lake Forest Drive and U.S. 221 remains a somber reminder of the importance of road safety.
