**Laurens County, S.C.**— A tragic car accident occurred in Laurens County, South Carolina on Wednesday afternoon. The **South Carolina Highway Patrol** is currently investigating the **deadly crash** that took place at Lake Forest Drive, near U.S. 221, approximately four miles west of Cross Hill.
The incident happened around **3:25 p.m.** when a 1983 Ford Bronco was traveling east on U.S. 221. The vehicle veered off the left side of the road, hit an embankment, and overturned. Sadly, the driver, who was the sole **occupant of the vehicle**, did not survive the crash.
Officials from the South Carolina Highway Patrol are working to determine the cause of the accident. The **Laurens County Coroner’s Office** has not yet released the identity of the driver.
