Community Mourns Loss of John David Hannah in Clinton, SC
Clinton, SC – A cloud hung over Clinton this past Wednesday, February 14, 2024, as the community came to grips with the sad news of John David Hannah’s passing. He was just 59 years old and left a mark on the hearts of many who knew him.
Remembering John
Born in the quaint town of Whitmire, SC, John was the son of the late John Alford Hannah and Faye Donna Hannah. He grew up with a spirit that was as vibrant as the South Carolina skies, full of life and joy. John had a special bond with his extended family too. His nephews – Chris Prince, Dillon Summer, and Buba Hannah – looked up to their uncle and were often found fishing with him by the lake. His nieces, Angela Hannah and Crystal Dickerson, fondly remember the laughter and fun they had together. Not to mention, he was loved by many grandchildren who will surely miss his hugs and storytelling.

Sadly, life had its challenges. In addition to losing his parents, John also mourned the loss of his sister, Donna Summer, which deeply affected him. But through it all, he remained focused on family, friends, and the simple joys in life, in true Southern fashion.
