With only two weeks remaining until the state semifinals at the UNI-Dome and three weeks until championship titles are decided, school spirit and determination were on display at every game.

This week, the Hawks dominated their opponent, leading with a score of 47-21 as the clock ticked down to just two minutes left in the game. It’s clear that they’re gearing up for a quarterfinal matchup against Iowa City Liberty, who previously defeated them in earlier play this season. Daniel Larmie had a stellar night, scoring four touchdowns and leading the Hawks to victory.

In a nail-biter, the Tigers managed to squeeze by with a thrilling 31-28 win, thanks to a game-winning field goal from Conley Harne, who had not attempted one all season. The Spartans also showcased their skills, edging out Benton 34-27 with quick play during the final moments of their game.

Meanwhile, the Maroons celebrated a convincing 41-21 victory over Cedar Falls to earn their spot in next week’s quarterfinals. The Vikings enacted a dramatic finish, scoring late in the game and converting a two-point conversion to secure a close win at 15-14.

As the night unfolded, excitement filled the air—a thrilling matchup between Ankeny and Linn-Mar was still in progress late into the evening. It was a busy night for the football fans of Iowa, as the first game of the weekend was not only entertaining but also set the stage for more intense competition next week.
