Community Celebrates Reopening of House of Pizza in Clinton After Devastating Fire

Hope Rises from the Ashes in Clinton

Clinton is buzzing with excitement as the community rallies around a beloved local establishment, the House of Pizza, which is set to return after a devastating fire last August. As the smoke cleared, questions lingered about the future of this cherished pizza joint and its role in the town’s vibrant atmosphere. But now, there’s good news on the horizon!

New Beginnings at 112 Musgrove Street

Narmeen Abojamoos, the heart and soul behind the House of Pizza, has made a bold move by purchasing the property at 112 Musgrove Street from Presbyterian College. This new site is just a short stroll from the previous location, and Abojamoos has her sights set on reopening the doors by the end of this year. Her excitement is palpable as she reflects on the community’s unwavering support throughout this challenging process.

Gratitude for Community Support

In a heartfelt statement, Abojamoos expressed her thanks: “First of all, I am thankful for the firefighters and first responders who came to stop the fire and prevent it from spreading further. I am thankful for my employees and miss my customers. They are all like family to me. I am also grateful to PC for being such a good partner and to the City of Clinton and the community for showing us so much love and support.”

A Partnership with Purpose

The decision to sell the property to Abojamoos made perfect sense for Presbyterian College, especially since they were in the process of relocating their campus eatery, Freshens, to focus on campus dining. Interim Vice President for Finance and Operations, Dan Hall, noted the significance of this transaction for both the college and the community: “House of Pizza has a great history in this town as one of our ‘go-to’ restaurants for students, our athletes, visiting teams, and parents who come to visit their kids.”

A Celebratory Keys Ceremony

On Thursday, a small but meaningful ceremony marked the closing of the sale, with the official “passing of the keys” bringing joy and hope to everyone involved. Hall emphasized that this win-win situation restores an important venue for local residents while allowing the college to proceed with its campus improvements.

Community Spirit Prevails

PC President Dr. Anita Gustafson echoed these sentiments, sharing her gratitude for the agreement that facilitates the return of the House of Pizza. “I am so grateful that Presbyterian College and the House of Pizza could work together on an agreement that restores, in part, one of the businesses lost in the devastating fire last August,” she remarked. “This is such great news not only for them but for the City of Clinton and for PC. We wish the House of Pizza much success in their new location and hope they will remain part of our vibrant community for many years to come.”

Anticipation is Building

As the cold autumn air settles over Clinton, Abojamoos is busy planning for the grand reopening, eagerly anticipating the return of her loyal customers. “I can’t wait to see my customers again, and I promise we will rise from the ashes better than ever,” she declared optimistically.

Sunny Days Ahead

As Clinton enjoys sunny skies and warm temperatures this fall, with highs reaching around 80°F and lows dipping down to 53°F, it seems only fitting that the spirit of resilience thrives alongside the beautiful weather. With light and variable winds, the atmosphere feels light-hearted and promising, matching the renewed hope sparked by the return of House of Pizza.

This return is not just about pizza; it’s about a community coming together, showing strength in the face of adversity, and reviving a local favorite that holds a special place in the hearts of many. So, as you stroll past 112 Musgrove Street in the coming months, keep an eye out for the opening of a revitalized House of Pizza, ready to serve up smiles and slices once again!
