High School Football Scores Showcase Thrilling Weekend Matchups Across the State

Minneapolis experienced exciting high school sports action this week, showcasing a variety of thrilling performances across the state.

In basketball, Mayer Lutheran maintained a strong presence by defeating West Lutheran with a score of 82 to 76. In another close match, Anoka edged out Edina with a final score of 66 to 65, highlighting the intense competition in these games. Benilde-St. Margaret’s had a convincing win against Shakopee, finishing 85 to 59.

The girls’ basketball scene was equally vibrant. The standout game featured Prior Lake overpowering Eden Prairie, winning by 91 to 75. Holy Angels also had a nail-biter, narrowly defeating Minneapolis Roosevelt 88 to 86 in a match that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

In wrestling, the Simley Invite showcased impressive performances with Simley claiming victory with a score of 130.00 points against Bloomington Jefferson at 128.25. Lucy Penttila from Simley delivered an exceptional all-around performance, scoring 35.60.

The hockey field wasn’t left behind either. In a matchup, Hopkins defeated Duluth Marshall convincingly with a score of 5 to 2. The energy was palpable at the rink as both teams fought hard for control of the puck.

Despite a few injuries, like Chase Thompson from the Breakdown Tip Off Classic who left due to a shoulder injury, the athletes continued to display their talent and determination. This week has been a testament to the spirit of high school sports, with close games and outstanding displays of skill all around.
