High School Football Update in Walpole: Excitement Builds Amidst Weather Challenges

As the fall season comes to a close, high school sports teams in the area are gearing up for exciting semifinal matchups. Today, Masconomet will take on Mansfield in the Division 2 state semifinals at Walpole High. The game kicks off at 5 PM, and both teams are looking to secure a spot in the championship game. Meanwhile, over at Manning Field in Lynn, Hamilton-Wenham faces off against Lynnfield in the Division 4 state semifinals, starting at 5:30 PM. This promises to be an intense battle as teams fight for a chance at glory.

The weather today is quite pleasant, with a high of 79°F and light southeast winds around 5 to 10 mph. However, as the evening approaches, conditions may change. The forecast indicates a 100% chance of rain after midnight, with expected rainfall of about half an inch. Fans planning to attend the games should prepare for potentially varying conditions.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, the Boys soccer Division 1 state semifinals will feature a showdown between St. John’s Prep and St. John’s Shrewsbury at Woburn, starting at 5 PM. It’s shaping up to be a thrilling matchup, as both teams aim for a chance to play for the state title.

Alongside high school action, college sports are also in full swing. The men’s hockey team from Salem State visits Franklin Pierce at 7 PM, while the women’s hockey team from Plymouth State travels to take on Salem State at the same time. The women’s basketball squad from Salem State will be playing at Clark at 6 PM, and another matchup features Endicott visiting Tufts at 7 PM. For men’s basketball, Salem State will compete against MIT at 7 PM.
