High School Sports Roundup in Connecticut

Connecticut saw some exciting high school soccer action recently as various teams clashed in a series of competitive matches. Here’s a breakdown of the latest results.

In Bethel, the girls’ soccer team emerged victorious against Morgan with a score of 3-1. Bethel’s goals came from Laina Caffrey, who netted two, and Emma Pires. Morgan’s single goal was scored by Sadie Passante, with Rachel Spaziano providing the assist. Bethel’s goalkeeper Emma Perrotti made 12 saves, helping her team improve to a record of 12-1-3, while Morgan drops to 9-3-2.

In a close matchup, Greenwich and Staples played to a 2-2 draw. For Staples, Katie Fitzgerald and Natalie Chudowsky were the goal scorers, with assists from Annabel Edwards and Willa Shamie. This ties Staples’ record to 6-4-1.

Waterford dominated St. Bernard, winning 6-0. Camryn Dickinson led the charge with one goal and two assists, while Adyson Wiseman contributed with one goal and three assists. Paige Jessuck added two goals of her own. With this win, Waterford improved to 10-3-0, while St. Bernard remains at 1-13-0.

Law had a strong showing against Branford, taking home a 7-3 victory. Alex Rodriguez scored two goals for Law, while Christian Mead also contributed with two goals. This brings Law’s record to 8-5-2.

Windham edged out NFA with a narrow 1-0 win, thanks to a goal from Melkin Calchingo. Each goalkeeper made three saves to keep the game tight.

East Lyme faced North Branford in a high-scoring affair, ultimately winning 4-3. East Lyme’s goals came from Sophia Gibson and Gracie Lloyd, who took advantage of being in the right place at the right time.

Finally, Glastonbury defeated Longmeadow, Massachusetts, 3-1. Zoe White, Deirdre Mc Kiernan, and Addison Infante all scored for Glastonbury, who moved to 13-1 this season.
