Minneapolis – A busy week of high school sports across Minnesota saw several exciting matchups and impressive performances. From basketball to hockey, teams displayed their skills and determination on the court and ice.
In the Eastern Minnesota Athletic conference, the Avail Academy boys basketball team delivered a strong performance against AFSA, winning decisively with a score of 77-43. Meanwhile, Math & Science also showed their dominance, claiming an 81-46 victory over LILA.
Moving to Minneapolis City, Southwest cruised past Roosevelt with a score of 93-55, highlighting their offensive abilities. In another thrilling game, St. Paul Humboldt secured a commanding win against Cristo Rey Jesuit, finishing at 87-32.
In the Metropolitan Area, Hastings battled against Woodbury and came out on top with a close score of 65-56. Mounds View had a solid performance against New Richmond (Wis.), winning 62-54. Prairie Seeds dominated Metro Deaf, with an overwhelming score of 56-7.
Across the state, several other games stood out. Wabasso’s boys basketball team put on a show by defeating Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart with a whopping 110-71 score. Additionally, Rushford-Peterson outlasted Bethlehem Academy in a nail-biter, winning 60-54 in overtime.
In hockey, Chisago Lakes took a decisive match against Visitation, winning 8-2, while Hibbing/Chisholm delivered an impressive 8-0 shutout against International Falls.
