Suamico – In an exciting nonconference match, the Appleton North Lightning battled the Bay Port Pirates and came out on top with a final score of 77-72. Nathan Ramus led the scoring for Appleton North with an impressive 22 points, while Will Sweeney contributed 18 points. Also scoring in double figures were Grant Hardy with 16 points and Matt Rosplochowski with 11 points. For the Pirates, Sawyer Durkee was the standout scorer, adding 19 points to the board. Maddox Cornette, Mondes Kelly, and Connor Gering also made significant contributions with 14, 13, and 10 points, respectively.
Over in Marshfield, the Appleton East Patriots edged past the Marshfield Tigers, winning 39-37. Cade Prestigiacomo led the charge for the Patriots, scoring 14 points, while Marshfield’s Brooks Hinson kept things competitive, finishing with 17 points.
The game between the Kewaunee Tigers and the Wrightstown Flyers turned into an overtime thriller. Daniel Buntin scored a crucial free throw with just 2.9 seconds left to secure a narrow 65-64 victory for Kewaunee. Leading the scoring for Wrightstown was Ethan Cyra with 25 points.
In Algoma, the Wolves exhibited a dominant performance against the Chilton Tigers, winning decisively 87-28. Parker Lischka and Braeden Leist made headlines, scoring 20 and 17 points, respectively, as Algoma took control early in the game.
Meanwhile, in Fox Crossing, Bonduel High School’s Bears secured a convincing 94-62 victory over St. Mary Catholic. Quinn Wesenberg led all scorers with 24 points, supported by Carter Moesch’s 22 points.
On the girls’ side, Appleton saw Neenah take down Appleton North 75-59, with Rowan Klesmit netting 27 points to spearhead the Rockets’ effort. Kimberly also had a strong showing, defeating Appleton East 54-45 with Haylie Dulas contributing 13 points.
In other notable matches, Freedom overcame Denmark 51-47, thanks to Gracie Martzahl’s 14 points, while New London dominated Green Bay Southwest 82-20, highlighted by Morgan Jones’s 17 points.
