Laurens to Celebrate Community Spirit with First Finally Friday Event
Laurens is set to light up its lovely downtown square this March 21, 2025! With the weather promising abundant sunshine and a delightful high of 73°F, locals can’t ask for a better evening to kick off the year’s first Finally Friday event. The fun will run from 6 to 9 p.m., and it promises to be a night to remember!
Musical Vibes and Community Engagement
To get the good times rolling, David E and the Band Levelz will be providing some fantastic musical entertainment. It’s a perfect chance to gather with friends and family as you enjoy great tunes under the clear skies.
But that’s not all! Local shops will keep their doors open late, offering exciting interactive games for everyone in the family. This is a splendid opportunity to explore what Laurens’ vibrant community has to offer, with smiles, laughter, and a wonderful community atmosphere. Plus, Main Street Laurens will be on hand, sharing insights about their organization and how they’re involved in making the town a better place.
Open House to Showcase Local Venues
The celebrations don’t stop there! On the following day, March 22, the downtown square will host an Open House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This will be a unique chance for folks to take tours of local venues while learning more about the available properties in the area. Building owners with vacant spaces are encouraged to come forth and display what they have to offer—who knows, someone might find their new dream space!
A New Era for Main Street Laurens
This initiative, organized by Debbie Simpson (Interim Director for Main Street Laurens), follows the recent resignation of the former Executive Director. Plans are underway, with applications closed for this crucial role. Interviews are set to begin soon, and there’s a goal to select a new Executive Director by the first week of April. Simpson highlights the importance of community involvement and encourages more volunteers to help support the vibrant organization.
Get Involved and Make a Difference!
Could you see yourself lending a hand? Main Street Laurens has exciting plans for future events, including a delightful Sip n’ Stroll event on April 25. If you’re interested in getting involved, there are spots open on both the Design Committee and the Economic Vitality Committee. Moreover, they are currently holding a year-long membership drive for individuals and businesses who want to support the cause and its events.
If you’re interested in volunteering or becoming a sponsor, reach out to Debbie Simpson or drop a mail to mainstreetlaurens@gmail.com. The Laurens community is buzzing with excitement, and every little bit helps in building a more connected and lively town. Don’t miss out on the fun this March, and let’s make some incredible memories together!
