The high school football scene in Northern Kentucky and Southeast Indiana is heating up as we enter the second half of the season. After some schedule changes due to Hurricane Helene last week, this week’s games went off without a hitch, giving fans thrilling action on the field.

In a notable matchup, Cooper took down Conner with a score of 42-17, continuing their unbeaten streak. Simon Kenton had a nail-biter against Ballard, winning 44-43 after overtime. Ludlow dominated Bellevue with a convincing 43-0 win, showcasing their strong defense that managed to shutout a Bellevue team that had scored 130 points in its previous three games.

The scoring summary for Ludlow showed touchdowns coming from various players. Jackson Mays threw a couple of touchdown passes to Carson Evans while Dameyn Anness had multiple rushing touchdowns, helping Ludlow improve their record to 4-2.

Highlands bounced back from last week’s loss, overpowering Dixie Heights with a score of 49-0. Quarterback Rio Litmer did not waste time as he threw for 209 yards and three touchdowns in just the first half. They held Dixie Heights to only 200 yards for the whole game.

Covington Catholic showed their skill too, winning 54-0 against Grant County, marking their fifth consecutive win after a rough start to the season. Dylan Gaiser had a standout performance with a punt return touchdown and a rushing score of his own.

Other notable scores included Mason County defeating Holmes 60-0 and Beechwood trumping Walton-Verona 69-0. This week also featured Holy Cross beating Morgan County 38-8 and Bishop Brossart edging Paris 21-14.
