Exciting High School Soccer Playoffs in Portland

Portland, OR – In a thrilling boys soccer match on Thursday, October 24, 2024, the Franklin Lightning and the Lincoln Cardinals faced off at Franklin High School. The game ended in a 2-2 tie, allowing both teams to earn a share of the Portland Interscholastic League (PIL) championship. This intense battle showcased the skills and determination of both teams, keeping the crowd on the edge of their seats.

Franklin, known for their strong season, came into the match with an impressive record. The Lightning struck first, taking the lead early in the first half with a well-placed goal. Lincoln responded quickly, equalizing the score shortly after. This back-and-forth continued throughout the match, with both teams making key plays on offense and defense.

Franklin also proved their mettle by beating Sherwood 2-1, advancing to the quarterfinals where they will face McMinnville on Saturday. Lincoln, after their impressive win over South Eugene in overtime, is set to battle Jesuit in the quarterfinals as well.
