Good morning, Laurens County! As we step into a new week, our lovely community is waking up to some foggy weather this morning. But don’t worry, the sun is expected to shine through as the day goes on, with high temperatures reaching a cozy 69°F. For those of you heading out this afternoon, expect partly cloudy skies—perfect for enjoying a stroll!
But that’s not the only bright news we have for you today! The Laurens County Fair Foundation is officially accepting grant applications for the year 2025! If you’re part of a local organization, now is your chance to shine. The application period is currently open and will close on December 31, 2024, so make sure you don’t miss out!
Any 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Laurens County is eligible to submit an application. This is a wonderful opportunity for groups engaged in a variety of causes—from supporting local youth sports to promoting health and education initiatives. The Fair Foundation has a rich history of giving back, and their generous support can make a significant difference in our community.
For those unfamiliar, the Laurens County Fair Foundation has roots that trace all the way back to August 30, 1938, with the formation of the Laurens County Fair Association. Over the years, this foundation has served as a benefactor for a variety of causes, including:
In 2023 alone, the foundation bestowed about $85,000 in grants, with individual awards ranging from $1,000 to $33,000. Clearly, they are dedicated to uplifting our community and responding to its various needs.
Ready to apply? You can find the grant application available for download on the Laurens County Fair Foundation’s Facebook page. If you prefer, you can also reach out directly by sending an email to laurenscountyfairfoundation@gmail.com for more information or to get a copy of the application.
Just remember, all applications need to be submitted by December 31, 2024, so it’s wise to get your ducks in a row sooner rather than later! Grants will be distributed in the Spring of 2025, giving you plenty of time to put any funds received to good use.
If you have any questions about the application process or are seeking guidance, Connie Daniels is more than happy to assist! You can email her at laurenscountyfairfoundation@gmail.com for help with any inquiries you might have.
So, Laurens County, grab this chance to step up and contribute to the causes that matter most in our community. Together, we can continue building a brighter future for all. Stay tuned for more updates, and enjoy the beautiful weather ahead!
