Exciting Championship Week for High School Sports in Kansas City

High School Sports Championships Take Center Stage This Weekend

This week, excitement is brewing across Kansas and Missouri as several high school sports championships take place, crowning champions in soccer, volleyball, and cross country. The atmosphere is electric as student-athletes compete for glory.

Starting with the cross country championships, the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) will host its event at the Gans Creek course in Columbia. Races for Class 1 and Class 5 schools are set for Friday, while those in Classes 2, 3, and 4 will hit the course Saturday morning. Kansas already crowned its champions last weekend, setting the stage for Missouri’s elite runners to show their skills.

The state tournaments for volleyball in Missouri and soccer in Kansas are also nearing their end, with crucial matches happening throughout the week. In Kansas, the boys soccer championships will unfold Saturday at various locations across the state. Fans can stay updated on scores and schedules on the KSHSAA website.

Football playoff action is set to heat up Friday evening in both states. Each classification in Kansas and Missouri will see teams fighting for a shot at the next round in high-stakes matchups.

Kansas Volleyball Class 6A Championship

  • Quarterfinals: Shawnee Mission East 3, Mill Valley 0
  • Semifinals: Dodge City 1, SM West 0
  • Final Match: SM East vs. Dodge City – Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

Kansas Volleyball Class 5A Championship

  • Quarterfinals: St. James Academy 3, Spring Hill 2
  • Semifinals: BV Southwest 4, Salina South 0
  • Final Match: BV Southwest vs. Maize South – Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

Missouri Volleyball Championships

The teams will be looking to add to their legacies with pivotal matches happening throughout the weekend.
