Boys and Girls High School Basketball Results: Sunday Recap

In Lincoln Park, Sunday was an exciting day for high school basketball, with several teams competing in the Geneva College/Lincoln Park tournament. The local Lincoln Park boys team took a commanding win against Ambridge, finishing the game with a score of 53-22. Meanwhile, Neighborhood Academy dominated Bishop Canevin, winning 62-31. Another close match saw Obama Academy narrowly defeating West Allegheny with a score of 52-49.

Over at the Play 4 Mae tournament in Woodland Hills, Riverview managed to hold off Brashear, winning the game 49-38. Woodland Hills also had a strong showing, decisively beating Steel Valley 59-26. The day concluded with York Suburban overcoming McKeesport in a high-scoring battle, ending at 76-59.

As for the girls, the Geneva College/Lincoln Park tournament showcased impressive performances. Altoona defeated North Allegheny 57-41 in another exciting matchup. Lincoln Park girls team squeaked past Beaver Falls with a final score of 41-39. In other games, Blackhawk defeated Latrobe 71-57, and Mt. Lebanon edged out North Catholic 52-46.

Looking ahead, Monday’s schedule features several matchups in the WPIAL Rettger tournament, including Aquinas Academy facing Avonworth at 6 p.m. and Seneca Valley going up against Franklin Regional at 7:30 p.m. Nonsection games also promise action, with notable matches such as Allderdice at Montour at 7:30 p.m..
