High School Sports Roundup: Exciting Matches from the Weekend

This weekend brought thrilling moments in high school sports, showcasing talent and teamwork across various teams. Various matches took place, from golf tournaments to soccer and volleyball games.

In the **Hap Holohan Tournament**, McMahon’s golfer Mac Lawton finished strong, carding a score of 75 and winning on the first playoff hole. He was closely followed by Aryan Gautam from Trumbull and Sawyer Dalzell from Staples, who also finished with scores of 75 and 77 respectively. Other notable players included Lucas Schachter from Warde, who scored 77, and Matthew West from Darien, finishing with a score of 78.

In field hockey, Bethel took on New Fairfield and secured a 4-2 victory. The Bethel goals came from Olivia Chamberlain, Sinead Deegan, and Laina Caffrey, while New Fairfield responded with goals from Natalie Flynn and Francesca Cabibbo.

Moving on to soccer, Trumbull faced Fairfield Ludlowe and ended in a 1-1 draw, with goals from Lucy Hurlbut for Ludlowe and another score for Trumbull. In another match, Ridgefield and New Canaan also settled for a 1-1 tie, with both teams displaying solid defense.

Volleyball was also on the agenda—**Bethel defeated New Fairfield 3-0**, showcasing strong teamwork and skill. Players like Janilla Hanson and Kaley Alkas contributed significantly to their teams’ successes, not to be overlooked in the weekend’s fixtures.

As the season progresses, fans and families eagerly await the next round of matches, hoping for more exhilarating games and standout performances from their favorite teams.
