Good morning, Clinton! We hope your day is as bright as the beautiful sunny weather we’re enjoying, with highs reaching around 72°F today. With a light breeze and clear skies, it’s a perfect opportunity to get out and about! But this week, there’s something even more important happening right here in our community.
On October 15, Clinton will be hosting an event that aims to assist our neighbors affected by Hurricane Helene, which caused significant challenges just a short while ago. Governor Henry McMaster and Lieutenant Governor Pamela S. Evette have teamed up with local representatives to bring us the Team South Carolina County Days initiative.
This special event is set up to be a one-stop opportunity for local residents to learn about the various resources available to them for recovery. You can expect to see state and federal officials alongside representatives from nonprofit organizations ready to lend a hand.
Taking place at the Piedmont Technical College, located at 663 Medical Ridge Road here in Clinton, the event runs from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. It’s designed to cater to residents from Union, Newberry, and Laurens Counties as well. But it doesn’t just stop in Clinton; Team South Carolina County Days will also be visiting Allendale on October 17 and Aiken on October 18.
So, what can you look forward to at the event? A whole host of state agencies will be on hand to offer assistance and information:
Whether you are looking for employment resources, health services, or support for mental well-being, there’s something for everyone at these gatherings. Plus, there will be fun activities and community volunteer opportunities through organizations like the United Way Association of South Carolina.
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed after a disaster, but Team South Carolina County Days is here to help you navigate the recovery process. Make a date with us on Tuesday, October 15, and bring your questions and concerns. This is a wonderful chance to connect with local resources and find the support you may need. Together, we can help each other rebuild and recover.
Let’s come together, Clinton! Take advantage of this incredible opportunity to learn and grow stronger as a community.
