High School Football Recap: Southeast Texas Thrills
In Southeast Texas, Friday night was filled with excitement as high school football teams hit the field for Week 8 of the season. Fans cheered, players fought hard, and several teams came out on top in what turned out to be an electrifying night of games.
The Port Arthur Memorial team celebrated a big win over West Brook with a final score of 42-14. Meanwhile, Barbers Hill dominated Beaumont United with an impressive score of 69-24, showcasing their strength throughout the game.
In a closely contested game, Nederland faced Lake Creek but fell just short, ending the game at 43-45. On the other hand, Port Neches-Groves kept a strong defense against West Fork, securing a 37-0 victory.
The Vidor football team emerged victorious with a score of 34-7 against Lumberton, while Little Cypress-Mauriceville triumphed over Liberty with a score of 38-7.
Silsbee didn’t hold back either, defeating Tarkington 44-3 in a solid showcase of their skills. In a high-scoring affair, Huffman-Hargrave took victory away from Hardin-Jefferson with a final score of 70-41.
Another notable game was between Hamshire-Fannett and Jasper, where Hamshire-Fannett came out on top with a score of 42-20. Bridge City edged out Livingston 32-20, and West Orange-Stark had an impressive game against Shepherd, winning 62-16.
In other scores, Orangefield defeated Kirbyville 49-14, while East Chambers triumphed over Coldspring-Oakhurst with a score of 47-18. Anahuac blanked Buna 21-0, and Newton cruised to a convincing 46-7 win over Kountze.
Woodville also fared well, bringing home a victory against Anderson-Shiro with a score of 48-27. Deweyville showcased a dominate performance with a score of 35-3 over Evadale, and West Hardin sealed their win against Sabine Pass with a score of 43-14.
