St. Paul witnessed an exciting week in high school sports as teams showcased their talent in various competitions. In soccer, the boys’ teams had some remarkable performances. St. Paul Humboldt took charge in the Adapted Soccer PI Division, defeating South Suburban with a score of 3-1. In other matches, Hiawatha College overwhelmed Liberty Classical, emerging victorious with a dominant score of 6-1. The scores continued to impress as teams from the Northwest Suburban and South Suburban conferences showed strong play. Notably, Armstrong routed Spring Lake Park 5-0, while Eagan triumphed over Apple Valley with a staggering score of 7-0.

On the girls’ soccer front, Mahtomedi displayed extraordinary skill, defeating Two Rivers with an incredible score of 9-0. Eagan’s girls also had a significant win against Apple Valley, triumphing 7-0. Not to be outdone, Centennial and Champlin Park’s girls’ teams both secured their victories in convincing fashion, with Champlin Park scoring 10 against Coon Rapids while Centennial finished strong at 3-0 over Totino-Grace.

In tennis, the competition heated up at the Class 2A Section 5 quarterfinals, where Maple Grove beat Monticello decisively at 6-1. Meanwhile, Mpls. Washburn narrowly edged past Benilde-St. Margaret’s in Section 6, securing a 4-3 victory in a closely contested match.

Volleyball also kept fans on the edge of their seats. In a thrilling match, Blake overcame Minnehaha Academy after a hard-fought battle, winning 22-25, 14-25, 25-18, 26-24, and finally 15-13. South Suburban teams also made headlines as Eagan dominated Apple Valley with a score of 25-8, 25-20, and 25-11.

The latest rankings were released, showcasing the top talent in boys’ and girls’ soccer across multiple classes, reflecting the competitive nature of the leagues involved. As schools prepare for upcoming tournaments, the stakes are high and excitement is building among athletes and fans alike.
