Menasha Tritons Claim Dramatic Victory Against Notre Dame

Menasha – In a thrilling finish, the Menasha Tritons pulled off a stunning comeback against the Notre Dame Tritons, winning 21-28 in the closing seconds of the game. Max Pierce connected with Charlie Hornacek for a 34-yard touchdown pass with only 12.9 seconds remaining, sealing the victory for Menasha.

Notre Dame started strong, taking a 21-7 lead entering the fourth quarter. Christian Collins was a standout for Notre Dame, rushing for 218 yards on 30 carries, including a 31-yard touchdown run and a 71-yard burst that extended their lead. However, Menasha wasn’t about to back down.

The Tritons roared back in the fourth quarter, starting with a 3-yard touchdown run from Elijah Gigl. Then, a pivotal 28-yard touchdown pass from Logan Liegl to Jaydon Lanser, followed by a successful two-point conversion by Liegl, tied the game at 21-21. Just when it seemed they’d settle for overtime, Pierce’s late-game heroics brought the win home.

In other local action, Pulaski Red Raiders soared past Ashwaubenon with a convincing 42-14 victory. Spencer Hakes led the ground game, rushing for 123 yards and one touchdown, while Brock Weideman added 106 yards and another score.

Meanwhile, the Bay Port Pirates proved dominant against Green Bay Southwest, finishing with a score of 49-10. Brady Moon was unstoppable, scoring four touchdowns in the first half alone, leading the offense to a total of 290 yards.

In the Fox River Valley Conference, a nail-biter took place as the Foxes of FVL edged out Seymour 25-24 with a late-game touchdown pass from Lucas Papendorf. This unexpected win knocked Seymour, which was previously undefeated, off its high horse.

Freedom also celebrated a strong win over Denmark, concluding with a score of 35-7. Drew Kortz shone by throwing for over 300 yards and scoring a touchdown himself via a remarkable interception return.
