Clinton’s Beloved Steamers Celebrates 20 Years of Community Connection

In the lovely town of Clinton, something special is happening as Steamers reaches its 20th anniversary. This cherished restaurant has not only filled the bellies of residents but has also become a vital part of the community. It’s a place where folks gather, families celebrate, and friendships blossom over hearty meals.

From Convenience Store to Community Hub

Steamers began its journey two decades ago as a small convenience store known as C-Mart. It started by offering humble sandwiches that quickly caught on, leading to its transformation into the fast-casual dining experience we know today. Located on Musgrove Street, it serves a delightful mix of meals that resonate with its regular patrons and new faces alike.

Brandon Page took over the helm of Steamers in 2019, following the restaurant’s original owner, Kevin Patton. Brandon comes from a family steeped in the restaurant business, so you could say this world is in his DNA. His father, who opened Red’s Burger Master back in the 1980s, serves as a foundation for his culinary journey. This connection is something Page feels deeply proud of. “It makes me proud. When I was younger, I remember people telling me about Red’s. How busy they were and the Clinton Mills across the street,” he shared with a warm smile.

The Foundation of Hard Work

Growing up around the hustle and bustle of restaurants, Brandon learned early on that running a restaurant is no easy feat. “I always knew it was hard work and being in it is hard work. There’s great rewards to it,” he explained. And those rewards, he insists, go beyond just the revenue. They stem from the strong bonds forged within the community. He often wears Steamers apparel around town, and the compliments he receives from happy customers mean the world to him. “That’s almost better than revenue. Just hearing people saying those things. That’s what really makes it worth it,” he expressed.

Brandon’s decision to open Steamers in Clinton was intentional. “I always knew if I was going to own a restaurant, it was going to be in Clinton. It is my hometown. I love Clinton. I’m born and bred Clinton,” he said with genuine affection for his community.

Reviving Beloved Recipes

Interestingly, the menu at Steamers carries forward not just the restaurant’s legacy but also that of his father’s establishment. Many of the menu items, including the famous chili, burgers, and hotdogs, reflect the spirit of Red’s. It’s a way for Brandon to cherish the old-school flavors everyone remembers while creating new memories in the process. “That’s what everybody really remembers, the old school, the old-fashioned way. To try to give the best quality food,” he said with a glint of pride in his eyes.

Carrying the legacy of both Steamers and Red’s is no small task, but it’s a challenge that Brandon embraces with open arms. “That’s a big responsibility. Every day we’re working harder on quality, on service to make sure that we’re still providing the quality of the food that everybody has been accustomed to,” he added, highlighting his commitment to maintaining high standards.
