Tomlin to participate in 2024 Miss South Carolina Scholarship Organization Competition

Laurens, SC – Miss Newberry, Haleigh Tomlin, has expressed her intent to compete in the 87th Annual Miss South Carolina Scholarship Organization competition.

Setting The Stage

The event is set to commence on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at the Township Auditorium in Columbia, South Carolina. The competition will climax with the crowning of Miss South Carolina 2024 on Saturday, June 29, 2024.

A Rising Star

Miss Tomlin came into the spotlight in October 2023, when she won the Miss Newberry Scholarship Organization competition, thereby earning her the eligibility to vie for the title of Miss South Carolina 2024.

The Girl Behind the Crown

A native of Gray Court, South Carolina, Tomlin graduated from Laurens District 55 High School in 2021. Haleigh is a media and communications student at Greenville Technical College and plans to join classes at Lander University this fall.

Expressing her excitement, Tomlin stated, “I’m thrilled to be a part of the competition in Columbia this year. The Miss South Carolina organization has influenced my life deeply, and I hope I can mirror this influence to other area youths and young women across South Carolina.”

A Vision of a Modern Woman

Competitors for the Miss South Carolina title, including Miss Tomlin, are projected as exemplary women of our time. The lady to bear the crown is expected to be talented, well-spoken, and intelligent. She is required to be a leader who values community service, understands the significance of physical and mental health, and acts as a role model to millions of people. As a relateable ‘it girl’, she should be able to resonate with modern-day women.
