This week was full of exciting action across the Kansas City metro high school football scene, including both playoff and non-playoff games. The competition was fierce, with several teams delivering impressive performances on the field.
Thursday’s Highlights
The playoff games kicked off with Blue Valley Northwest achieving a solid 31-12 victory over Shawnee Mission North. Meanwhile, Olathe Northwest put on a show against Olathe South, winning 44-21. The night continued with Shawnee Mission Northwest scoring a convincing 57-27 win against Shawnee Mission South. In a non-playoff matchup, Riley County dominated Oskaloosa with a score of 64-0.
Friday’s Results
Friday delivered more thrilling games. In one of the standout matchups, Atchison routed Bonner Springs with a score of 62-16. Basehor-Linwood won a close battle against Blue Valley Southwest, finishing 21-18. Other notable outcomes included Bishop Miege defeating Louisburg 21-14 and Blue Valley North narrowly edging out De Soto 34-27.
In dominating fashion, Mill Valley beat Harmon 77-0 and Gardner Edgerton shut out Wyandotte 63-0. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Lawrence Free State overcame Olathe West 49-26 while Leavenworth secured a convincing 47-7 win against Washington.
