High School Volleyball Highlights from Kaukauna
This past week in Kaukauna, the local volleyball scene was buzzing with regional playoff action. The third-seeded Ghosts swiftly defeated the Appleton West Terrors in the semifinals with scores of 25-13, 25-14, 25-6. With this win, Kaukauna improved their record to 27-8, while Appleton West wrapped up their season with a 2-22 finish. Key performances came from Madison Tripp, who recorded a double-double with 15 assists and 10 digs, and Delaney Ward, who led the team with seven kills.
Meanwhile, in Appleton, the Lightning shone bright as they took out the Hornets with scores of 25-23, 25-15, 25-14. Coach Steve Scheuerell expressed pride in his team’s execution, as they improved to 17-20 and geared up to face Xavier in the regional final.
An impressive sweep came from the Neenah Rockets, who toppled the Golden Raiders 25-12, 25-11, 25-14, setting the stage for a Saturday match against Oshkosh West. The Hawks also made headlines with their victory over the Jaguars, winning 25-19, 25-20, 25-18 which propelled them into a regional final showdown with Appleton North.
De Pere’s Redbirds also had a successful evening, defeating the Patriots 25-18, 25-15, 25-16 to move on to face Kimberly on Saturday, while West De Pere advanced past the Polar Bears with a solid 25-19, 25-20, 25-18 victory.
Other notable matches included Waupaca dominating the Red Robins 25-18, 25-8, 25-15, and the Shawano Hawks winning against Winneconne 25-23, 25-19, 25-15. The excitement in these regional playoffs shows the hard work and dedication of these high school athletes as they push toward the championship.
